@pamasaur Totally with you. I originally intended to only take on a single mentee last year, but had a TON of amazing candidates. I eventually narrowed it to two.
-
@pamasaur I love group teaching/training/mentorships, but it’s hard to go deep with folks. If someone is struggling, you need to be able to invest the time.
-
@pamasaur I ended up setting up calls with my two mentees on alternating weeks for an hour. If we needed more, we’d set that up too. Sometimes we skipped a call if it wasn’t necessary. We also synced via email and Twitter as necessary.
-
@pamasaur I think that worked well and made it easier to juggle two mentees, a day job, travel for work, and (of course) my family.
-
@pamasaur If you decide to take the leap (and I encourage you to), don’t overtax yourself. Start small. I’d encourage you to start with one person (two max) until you figure out how to balance things.
-
@pamasaur To be honest, I aim to stick with two this year as well. Who knows what will happen, but I’m not sure I can do justice to them if I take on more.

@pamasaur As I still write and speak a lot, I consider that my 1:n mentorship work and this program is my 1:1 mentorship work.
