@BillGates @iamrashidajones Loved the discussion on inequality in the latest episode, but I wanted to point out that, on the topic of free college/university, that no one is asking the government to subsidize a school like Harvard (as Bill was implying).

There are many different forms of higher education that can be made available for free and that can help increase opportunities and increase the likelihood of upward mobility for folx.

Some states & municipalities, for instance, offer free Associates Degrees. We had free community college for everyone when I lived in Tennessee. Seattle, my current home, also offers tuition-free community college.

The interesting thing about this approach, in particular, is that it's an opportunity that most students from higher income families will not take advantage of.

“Baby Bonds” seem like another way to provide the same educational opportunity (and non-educational ones as well). I’m only about halfway through the episode, so I’m hopeful you’ll talk about those as a vehicle for reducing inequality too.
